"If I know anything about the character of God after forty years of study, I know that God hates abortion. And I could never vote for a candidate who supported abortion--even if I agreed with that candidate on every other policy position. If he supported abortion I would not vote for him and I urge you to do the same." --R.C Sproul
"It is an art to weigh the importance of different issues and to come to a godly conclusion. Each of us should have a large amount of tolerance for other Christians who come to conclusions that are different from ours. Rarely will one issue trump all others, though I must say that I will never vote for a candidate who advocates or facilitates the killing of unborn children.” --John Frame

The parallel I draw is of a young up-and-coming political activist. He was smart, handsome, and charismatic, a law student with great potential.
He was thoughtful and personable. He did chores for his elderly landlady. He brought his girlfriend flowers every year on the anniversary of their first date. He took her kids and their friends out for ice cream. He was supportive of a co-worker during a difficult divorce.
And he was literally a lifesaver. He worked at a suicide prevention hotline. Not only that, he had once rescued a toddler from drowning.
Should we let just one troubling thing in this otherwise stellar man disqualify him?
Why did we let the fact that Ted Bundy bludgeoned coeds to death as a sort of hobby overshadow all the good he did? I mean, aren't there other important issues besides crime prevention?
If your god hates abortion then why does he kill so many babies? He killed Egyptian babies in the Bible to make the Pharaoh let the Jews go right? So it must be okay to kill babies in certain situations.
Weird that he just didn't teleport the Jews out of Egypt without all the baby killing business isn't it?
Salvage: I always try to respond to honest questions or comments. Alas, yours appears to be mere sniping and carping. Nevertheless, it is revealing. Your assumption of what God would or should do is much more in line with an Islamic worldview than a Biblical one--which of course, is the end result of reductionistic, utilitarian, Modernism.
